waiting for my job to start is much more of a rotting process than the wait for a reply for a job.

now i'm really doing what i thought was just a thought. i'm in a sewing project with wildcat, writing script for extra income (though it might be rejected..), and doing a regular (hmm.. not very regular too..) at the upcoming theme park.

life is changing fast. i should stop lying on my bed and avoiding the world.

on april 3rd i took this 'color test' and posted my results on the blog.
took it again, since i'm free and just waiting for september to come~ (i'm employed! though low pay.. praying for early promotion!! within half a year pls!!).

今天看完了《痞子英雄》，我好感动。因为我见证了一段花了好多心血，和爱，不被人看好，的戏，成功了！又是夫妻党，老婆produce，老公direct。我深受感触。《痞子英雄》要拍电影了。恭喜！因为，电影都是拍戏的人，最终的梦。当然，我也是。可是，我也希望是夫妻党的成品。我们是在放弃吗？我们真的要放弃吗？我会有一天后悔吗？可如果我执著，我真的会成功吗？如果不呢？

Noise Singapore is looking for vibrant and energetic actors to go out into the streets of Singapore this March to publicize the Noise Singapore showcase and concerts.Event actors will go out on selected routes playing larger-than-life, fun, flamboyant and outgoing characters who will engage the public directly and let them know about the Noise Singapore showcase exhibition/concerts that are taking place.

There are multiple spots available for the different times and dates, so do feel free to sign up whether you're available for the entire event period or not. All engaged parties will be scheduled according to a roster.

as i cry auld lang syne and scream cheers to my graduation coming in a few months..

i'll miss making films, being part of a team running around looking so chui, screaming time and acting as xena. i'll miss red table, the 5 flowers in school, my helpful juniors (of which some are my seniors. lol), the screenings, the tall sissy giant, the days we spent in the sun and rain, the nights we spent in the edit suite, the bitching sessions, the drinking after work, the walking round school barefooted.

I'll miss my second home. "there's life outside your apartment" so i'll going to fly away. and as SG producers say, if you are destined to be here. you'll be back.

I wish luck to all staying on to fight. I'm sad to leave you but i know i need a new place to grow so that i might be back someday.

Film will always be part of my life. no matter where i end up.

i'm so sad i lost my gingerbread men recipeeeeeeeee that i perfected to my family's taste!

now i'm trying to recall and reading all the recipes online.

and i'm going to try using the royal icing this time, and i've put 2 days aside to bake bake bake and decorate! :)

so tempted to cutout a gingerbread house.. hee. but i'm not there yet! just 500 men, which 100 will be gone as i bake 'cos of my cousins, as a target this year. I'M CRAZY!

and i promise to take photos cos hui is in beijing and i cant send it over.

i'm excited! baking gingerbread men is the best part of christmas next to meeting everyone up.

Finally home for a day, and i'll be heading back to school in moments.

haha. time to reflect. so i post. its all blabbering. dont waste your time reading unless you wanna emo.

i've been doing it unknowingly. a 9 to 5 job everyday. then soon i'll start getting tired again. and the flame will die and i'll run away once again. i hate posting these stuff. but i guess even the saddest thing will come outta my mouth and sound like a joke, just because i dont want to agree that it is sad. that i feel sad, and i dont wanna admit that sometimes i wanna wallow in sadness too, to cry with no reason, to feel even a bit that i'm giving out negative energy and that i'm may be another emo bitch.

ah i guess my PMS is getting at me. BAH! so BEWARE. NEGATIVE ENERGY incoming!!

been reading blogs of my fellow "artist" and suddenly i realise that i've once again lost something that i cannot describe. but for good or for worse, it's hard to decide. to survive? or to live? i hate that question! to survive. i find myself saying, even though i encourage everyone to live, cheer them on to. but here i am surviving, and it's been like this for a while. i've "matured"? i've become so accustomed to it, to bursting my dream bubbles, to planning realistically, to working in order, to being politically correct, to smiling so sincerely even when i don't mean it, to saying "jia you" and push myself on no matter what.所以我真的开心吗？面对躲着的自己.

i miss my dreams, i miss the mess, i miss the carefreeness. i guess this is the price that comes with growing up.

maybe i should mop the floor wet with soap with cloth, then kneel on it and slide around the house assuming i'm cleaning the house with my brother.

I've gone shopping in Daiso, and after staring at the real japanese mini bentos for a long time, which is cute and small. I decided on the big tuperwares next to it. 3-tiered, so i don't starve my guinea pigs.

Tomorrow's guy bento menu is wakame rice or garlic pasta, tier 1. beef and sesame spinach, tier 2. hard boil egg and tofu, tier 3.
Mine will be without meat include tomato and celery.

Gosh. I wonder if it will be edible.
Hopefully.

Pray for danny and my brother tonight. lol.

finally the rain has stopped. bring away all the gloom!

too many things have happened that I dont wanna talk about so i can smile as always.
and its been 3 days since my crazy girl partner has gone overseas telling me she wants to kill me.. TWICE. haha..

and i wonder how my crazy girl and jo and jass did it travelling to and fro the 2 ends of singapore everyday for the past 2 years. 5 weeks and i'm dreading the rest of the year. everyday i stand at my door praying that saying "poof" can actually transport me to school.

and i'm also broke from eating out everyday. so i'm going to start bentoing.. and to stop danny from tempting me into eat 2 lunches (my bento then a meal out..). I'm going to make bento for him too, and my stingy brother is going to bring my less than edible bentos to work too. haha. so finally time to get proper bentos instead of my metal tin and tuperwares.

He's on today's papers (and named on yesterday's) if you havent seen it. Winner of Special Jury Prize of SIFF'08.

Of course, Lincoln (his Love me Love my Dogs) deserves as much applause for being nominated for the silver screens.

Some say its a stepping stone, some say this might be a turning point, but whatever it is, moving forward is great news. So honoured to say they are my classmates.

for those you dont really know SIFF, just has to know that it's an international film festival that is organised by singapore, its really prestigious for filmmakers from around the world (especially SEA). Its like the singapore version of cannes film fest. and do remember to support the SIFFs to come! Local works are not as bad as many think, and they really deserve a round of applause for trying even when so few are supporting. Every work deserves a clap for the hardwork put into it.

if i did I'm Sorry. i seem to be short-tempered and hot-headed these few weeks..
and if i did.. tell me, so i know, and give me a chance to explain and say sorry.

i'm not using my brains when i speak and i think i'm talking too much to cover my overwhelming emotions that are actually showing the more i talk.. (what an irony) but i can't stop talking.. (gaffer tape me someone!)

and i'm finally. finally. going to push my lazy ass to work on my own script, to shoot "memory ride". and if i don't. someone, anyone, EVERYONE PUSH ME! hopeful it'll be done before i do my internship, which hopefully i'll be doing this summer with shooting gallery. i really want to shoot this and make this good. so at least there's something i can be proud of and talk about when people ask me what have i shot and i can show them. cos serious my works now are still not up to standard (but i'm improving!! must be positive!!).

so to everyone who feels the same way, 加油! Because if you're start from the bottom, the only way you can go is up! :)

i wanna go overseas, go somewhere far and unfamiliar.
felice is going to another work and travel trip. jiahui is going to australia for instep, jit and carol has gone to US in the summer. danny did work in esplanade and considered the instep. wanhui's gonna backpack US.. and most of the crew are going to fight for the tibetian film trip.

why am i sitting here rotting not applying for anything and not going anywhere? why am i bothered and worried about leaving the country for more than 2 mths. why am i convinced i shouldnt go yet envious of the rest? what am i waiting for? if my whole crew is to dissappear overseas, and i'm not going to film anything.. why am i sitting here with an excuse that my mum will disagree? why cant i be less bothered that its my parents hard earned money i'm spending? or am i just giving myself excuses to stay in my comfort zone.

why have i done so many mistakes this year that i'm trying to run away from and hide it as if time will heal? why am i letting all my faults get to me rather then fixing it?

i need to connect a generator to my brain to supply RAM to run the program digital painting. every time i "click" on that program, the beachball of death appears in my head.. so much so that i want to do a painting of a wacom pen stuck into my head which is placed on a wacom tablet.

but that is so gore and i cant bloody paint blood. or i'll really do it.
then again, i'll go to sleep tonight and pray in my dreams i'll dream of what to do.

OH AND! everyone should know this.
and for the guys out there trying date a girl or just plain bringing your girl out.. or just a friendly gathering..

Slow Saturdays, Sunny Sundays

this was meant to be posted on saturday.. but it was a lazy saturday, so being lazy i didnt post.

i guess after staying in the hostels for too much of your time, home becomes so comfortable. Comfy bed, cool yet warm, fresh air (from the 16th floor) and no one to bother you, no class to worry about. So much so you don't want to wake up. Lovely. I love saturdays at home!

Many people might love weekends out playing, but i like it nice and slow. sleeping in, waking up to have tea, then slacking on the sofa with a book then a little nap again before my lunchtime movie. then slowly working on my next project, dreaming dreams, till mum orders that i get my butt off the chairs and beds to get prepared for dinner out.

then again why not sunday? sunday is my sunny sunday, if god blesses and it doesnt rain. when the big family gathers early in the morning to the beachside parks to cycle or skate or just for a simple run. then back home, buzzing with laughter and screams of the kids while the fathers busy themselves over a talk about politics and the mothers about the biggest sale happening and the men who are sitting by the table not helping in the kitchen. While the young adults and teens are engaged in a game of command and conquer and silly chat about our futures.

Oh if you're confused, it might be because you don't already know that when i say my family, i include everyone under the tree of my grandparents (5 aunts and uncles and their spouses and children).

Well well, life is beautiful. It ways we might not see. If not for university and days away from home, i guess i might not have really understood the comforts of home and what a fortune i have to have such a close knitted family.

so my friends, look around. there always something warm in a room of cold, just look around you. life is full of surprises, so you just dont notice. god bless. and may you be happy :).

I'm so sorry I caught the production so late.

If i rate snow wolf lake 100/100, i rate "tian le jiu hui jia" 1000/100!!
I recommend everyone to catch this production when it comes back in 2009. (I caught the 2nd last show, and the last show was fully booked, so i couldnt ask anyone else to watch it.) And I URGE ALL Singaporeans. you MUST watch this. hopefully by 2009, singaporeans will readily accept the arts scene and sacrifice buying a levi's to watch this musicial production.

The cast might not be very pro in their singing, but they are still good, and most importantly, they sing with feeling and they sound like they meant every word they sang from the very depths of their hearts. They have the ability to affect you. They might not be very pretty and handsome, but they have a feel of familiarity and home.

Dont be mistaken to think that this production is full of Singlish. It's great for international audience, but it really retains the Singaporean feel in the proper fluent chinese language, with the occasional inserts of hokkien. And I dare to say this musical has been influenced and inspired by the American poet, Cumminghem's works; many chinese traditions; and the Singaporean way of live; and how the 3 generations here are although are alike, are very different.

Its a singaporean production with lots of "xin yao" singapore songs, and in this musical you'll really FEEL the songs and fall in love with this seasonless country. I laughed and cried at almost everyone of them. It's about the main lead Ah Le who after losing his love flies to New York in search of his dream of becoming a song-writer. There he meets other Singaporeans, also chasing their dreams. (wont spoil the rest for you.. wait.. till 2009)

The chinese translation of the title and the main song in the musical, "come back when its cold" is so heartwarming. It's never cold here in singapore (unless you're talking about the blasting aircon). We might not be the best, we might not be a civil "civil" society, we might be too much a formal national, but this is our home and where we belong.

Where you can always fall back on, even if it seems like there's no space for you, singapore is making space for you. We just have to perservere and support each other.

I'm so glad I watched it. I cant stop loving the experience. Makes you think deeper about your roots and cherish your family and nation more.
Say "I am a Singaporean! I love Singa!". Shout it out loud.

I'm suppose to be doing work now, but i'm doing up my blog.. haha.

Am going to shoot a short coming tuesday and next weekend, just a short documentary style video about singapore. The cute happy side of it. The heartlander point of view. The casting is my family! Haha.. aint that cute? (It's like a home video. but hope the image will is good.)

Today's AGM, the official handing over and no more student club. I feel so light! no more meetings! freeing up time for films and friends and family. I know ying will be a good president and the club will become stronger. :)

And another happy thing.
WONGFUSTORE stuff has reached my home! YAY!! I can watch it on monday!
ALL wongfu fans! tell me when you want to watch it. monday? tuesday? we'll have popcorns and mini-steamboat screening!! I can't believe I'm so excited but I am! Oh my.. I think i'm starting to sound like a bimbo with all the exclamation marks.

Wear sunscreen.

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience…I will dispense this advice now.

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded. But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked….You’re not as fat as you imagine.

Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.

Do one thing everyday that scares you

Sing

Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.

Floss

Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.

simply me. to blog short posts and work till this late at night.
even i cant believe it but i have to tell you that right now, i really understand what they mean by you'll never be tired when you're doing what you're passionate about. I'm about to start writing a script at this unearthly time of the day after i finished my late work.. (sorry ellen) at the same time try to pen down another one of my stupid concepts for my new tech module.. too many things are swirling in my brain.. but i'm not irritated.. i'm actually happy.

and the english standard for this post is totally horrid. if that craft of writing prof was here, she would have murdered me with a C.
